In OMINS, fee reports are available under products -> products promotion view -> [double click a product] -> auction rules tab, and under the general tab.
These reports are designed to assist in optimizing TradeMe promotion/prices at a glance. When you are in an auction rule/product, it is easy to see from these reports whether or not the rule/product is performing.
You can quickly see if the promotions are generating profit or if they are being wasted. And if the price is adequate to cover what is spent on TradeMe fees.
There are two different types of summarized fee reports:
– Product TM fee report
– Rule TM fee report
The reports look the same, however the data is slightly different. One is based on an entire product (i.e. all auction rules created on the product) while the other is specific to a single rule.
Product TM fee report
This is a a report of TradeMe auctions and the associated fee for all the rules attached to a product.
This report is located under the general tab on the product promotion view page.
It is also displayed in website or Easywholesale rules to assist with pricing on these channels.
Rule TM fee report
This is a report of TradeMe auctions and the associated fees for a single rule.
This report is visible in auction rules of type “auction” and only displays auctions and fees for the current rule that you are viewing.
Outline of the report
Here is an example of a report:
Total Auctions: This is the total number of auctions listed on TradeMe for this product/rule.
Total sold: This shows the total number of sales. It includes offers and BuyNow only purchases for this product/rule.
Sell through: The percentage sell-through for this product/rule.
Promo fees/listing fees: The total amount spent on promotion/listing fees for all the auctions listed. This includes: listing fee if applicable to that category, overlisting fee, feature, gallery, gallery plus, reserve fees, bold, subtitle, extra photos and any other fees that are charged at the time auction is listed. Top seller discounts are also counted.
Success fees: Success fees for any sold, BuyNow auction or offer. Top seller discounts and refunds are also counted.
Paynow fees: Fees that are charged if the buyer uses PayNow. Top seller discounts are also counted.
Total fees: The total of all the above fees charged on all the auctions.
Total sales: The sum total of all the sold (BuyNow auctions and offers).
Total sales – fees: Total sales – Total fees
Avg sale: The average amount per sale (total sales/total sold)
Avg sale – fees: The average amount received per sale after the fees are deducted (total sales – fees / total sold)
Fees as percentage: This shows the fees as a percentage of your total sales. So in this example it is 9.7% meaning that if there were $100 in sales for this product, $9.70 would be spent on various fees on TradeMe.
Common Questions
Why is my Avg sale much less than my BuyNow?
The average sale is from not only BuyNows but auctions and offers as well. If you are discounting for your offers or running $1 or low reserves, your average sales can be a lot less than your typical BuyNow price. (This is a situation where you can optimize your pricing)
Why is the fee percentage so high on some listings?
The fee percentage is typically very high if you are using some kind of promotion (gallery, feature, subtitle, etc) but your sell though rate is very low. This means you are spending a lot on promoting auctions that don’t sell which means the few sales you do make have to cover the fees of the unsold auctions promotions, therefore giving a very high fee percentage for that product/rule. (This is a situation where you can optimize your promotion. Consider removing promotion or stopping the rule if it is not profitable)
